The election for JCCC Board of Trustee, local school boards and city elections will be decided first in the PRIMARY election on August 6, 2019 and then in the GENERAL election on November 5, 2019. There are several ways to vote and I have outlined those below. Most importantly, PLEASE VOTE!  THE AUGUST 6 PRIMARY WILL DETERMINE 6 CANDIDATE WHO MOVE ON TO THE GENERAL ELECTION FOR JCCC TRUSTEE.

LOCAL ELECTIONS MATTER!

Voter Registration:

Voter registration closes 21 days before the election so please register early. For information on registering to vote and registration locations, please visit the Johnson County Election Commissioner's website at:

  If you are not registered to vote, please register as soon as possible.

 

Traditional Voting In Person:

The polls will be open on August 6 and November 5 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Many polling places have changed to be more efficient, so please check your polling place by calling the Johnson County Election Commissioner's office at (913) 782-3441 or visiting the website at: https://voter.jocoelection.org. You can also view a sample ballot at that website

Advance Voting In Person:

You may vote in person at multiple locations in Johnson County in advance of the November 5 election.

Voting times and locations will be announced this summer.

Advance Voting By Mail:

Advance voting by mail has become a favorite and convenient method for many, many voters. Here is a summary of the information from the Johnson County Election Commission website on advance voting. For complete information, please visit: https://jocoelection.org/advance-voting-0#1.

  • Advance voting by mail begins on October 16. Ballots must be postmarked on or before August 6 for the primary or November 5, 2019 for the general election.
  • To vote by mail, complete an Application for Advance Voting Ballot by Mail and fax to (913) 791-8931, (913) 791-8932 or (913) 791-8933, or mail to Johnson County Election Office, 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, KS 66061. A separate application must be submitted for each election unless the voter qualifies for permanently sick/disabled status. You may obtain an application at: https://jocoelection.org/PDF/advapp.pdf
  • Applications are also available at the Election Office and libraries. Completed applications must be received at the Election Office before 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election.
  • Your voted ballot may be returned by mail or hand-delivered to the Election Office. After business hours, a drop box is available at the front entrance. Ballots may not be faxed. To be counted, the ballot must be postmarked on or before August 6 for the primary or November 5 for the general election.
  • Advance voting ballots can only be turned in to the Election Office.
